The lack of confirmation for filling out the form is creating angst but it may indicate a good possibility. Based on the way the form is structured, I think it is meant to just create a master list of interested candidates. They are not tracking it to the individual applicant’s file and hence there is no email confirmation or update on the portal. Once Cornell is ready to notify, they will send admission offers to all the individuals on this list. The wording of the letter (“top of the list”) and the structure of this form suggest no further review by admissions office and a high probability of admission. So rely on the Thank You message that came on the browser and feel optimistic.
It also stands to reason that more slots will open beyond the initial group they have communicated with. For those who have not got this letter yet , do not lose hope though these waits are painful.
For anyone whos anxious about doing the survey twice, im sure its not a big deal if you do. There wasnt any confirmation email afterwards and we werent sure if our first survey went through so it should be understandable if you send in another one just in case.
Did anyone get the email about being at the top of the waitlist without submitting a LOCI prior to it? Or did anyone not get it and send in a LOCI? I got the email w sending a LOCI and it looks like everyone else got the email w sending a LOCI. Just wondering
@nyc1201 I’ve been watching and haven’t seen any new SHA news mentioned by anyone here in the past week. I think I saw 1 or 2 mentions of people knowing someone who came off the SHA wait list last week, and it has been quiet since. I think only CAS sent the email/survey recently? If anyone got something similar for SHA let us know!
Anyone hear from CALS? Im also more interested in the transfer option than attending in the Fall because of cost and Covid-19, so is there any way I should communicate that with them or will it look bad?
@SAYSA I was not and am not in contact with an AO. Just a LOCI that i submitted like the first week of April. but Cornell said in their email that they haven’t reviewed anyone’s LOCI yet. I think this top of the waitlist group got there because of their original application not any added info that we provided after getting on the waitlist. I think they are gonna start reviewing LOCIs right about now.
@dylanddr I reached out to them and they confirmed they do not rank candidates on their waitlist however, do keep track of those who have sent letters of continued interest, updated grades, etc. They indicated they will consider those who have submitted all this above information to fill the open positions.
