How does that make sense when some people in CAS received an email saying they were at the top of the waitlist and many others in CAS did not receive the email?
if they donot rank, why there is a top listïŒApparently there is a rank.
@newyorkerinCT did u get the CAS survey as well?
@dylanddr did you end up emailing Cornell that you submitted and wanted to confirm or did you just submit the form twice? If you emailed please let us know what they say!
Remember guys college is what you make of it ultimately and even a waitlist from an elite school is indicative that all of us are competitive applicants that can succeed anywhere. Stay hopeful but be happy with the admissions you already have as well
@simpleliving88 True that!
I really hope results come out next week @happinessmatters @simpleliving88 canât take this any longer.
I want to get rejected already so that my friend who already got into Cornell wont have to wait for me to fill his roommate request form.
I applied to CALS and associate director told me there is no ranking but it may be different for every school
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/01/us/coronavirus-college-enrollment.html , they took off 99 students already
@SAYSA Wait how do you send updated grades? All my classes are pass/failâŠ
do u guys think the next wave of acceptances will be next week?
lol she wasnât even placed on the waitlist but was offered a spot. I am taking the L for sure now
I doubt the state schools of Cornell (CALS, ILR, HumEc, Vet Medicine) are going to be taking people off the waitlist. Most of the people who get into these schools are in-state students, maybe like 2/3rd, so that means that theyâre likely close to Cornellâs campus and that theyâll be more inclined to enroll there. Compared to schools like Engineering or CAS, where a lot of accepted students are around the world.
Itâs very likely that these state schools of Cornell will have a very high yield already, so they are most likely not going to tap into their waitlists.
@christysha Did you call them today? Do you know if they are going to go to the waitlist?
@simpleliving88 I didnât end of emailing them. I just submitted twice.
This whole waitlist trickery is frustrating omg. Like donât say youâre going to take people off the waitlist after May 1st then do it before (this is directed at SO many schools) and donât say you donât rank waitlists and then send an email claiming there are kids at the top of the waitlist. I am waitlisted at other schools and theyâre all doing this crap. I wish they would just stuck to their own rules my god
yes
are we still allowed to submit to the link if we got the email? i already submitted before but i donât know if i should do so a second time just in case. the email says may 1st at midnight but people were still submitting them today
I would say one time would suffice. Since they donât send a confirmation, some people got concerned and did it twice. If you saw the Thank You message on your browser, Iâd imagine you are all set.
Just out of curiosity, did those of you who received an email check the box that said you would consider a spring or delayed start date when you accepted your spot on the waitlist?
Did anyone get the email about being at the top of the waitlist without submitting a LOCI prior to it? Or did anyone not get it and send in a LOCI? I got the email w sending a LOCI and it looks like everyone else got the email w sending a LOCI. Just wondering
I got the email! I just sent a LOCI ⊠no conact with my AO.
