How do you find your admissions officer? Shoul new grade reports be sent to the admissions officer or is there a particular email?
Does anyone know who Cornellâs NY undergraduate admissions officer is?
Thereâs more than one.
Is Dean Boor the admissions officer for CALS?
wait why are people asking about their admissions officers?
Probably to submit their grades, but I donât think it even matters since majority of schools have switched their grading systems to Pass or Fail.
Do we need to submit updated grades?
@hpwang1014 you definitely donât have to submit updated grades, but it canât hurt if you do. Just remember to have a school administrator/counselor submit them on your behalf, because thatâs what the website requests.
Anyone wanna call and ask about waitlist decisions?
@SAYSA how are we supposed to stay in contact with AO when they donât tell us our district district reps? Isnât a LOCI staying in contact? Iâm confused by your question
@simpleliving88 Staying in touch with AO is not necessary. But, if they visited their college or you know who it is and you stayed in touch, then thatâs good as well. However, staying in touch with your AO does not guarantee anything.
Based on last year, tomorrow 05/05 will be a decision day for Cornell WL.
I am thinking starting Wednesday because they will have a couple of days to go through the deposits. I am also hearing for the contract colleges, there is a preference towards NY applicants. But even if 50 percent to 66 percent are in state, that leaves 1/3rd to 1/2 for out of state. I am thinking internationals wonât be able to come to the contract colleges and that helps full pay out of state (higher tuition). Also, people from like California and Texas, etc. may not want to go far from home.
so do we know when theyâll make the admissions official for those who got the CAS email last week?
Do you think all the kids who got an email will get a spot? Seems that they sent it to many people, but at the same time, I feel that itâs even rude to send such an email and then reject the applicant. I would rather have just not heard anything if it wasnât almost definite
how many ppl have received this email?
I have received this email and most people on this thread have. However a girl from my town that was also waitlsited did not receive it. I dont know how they decided who got it but I really hope they didnt sent it to me just to reject me. I keep refreshing my email like crazy!!
In 2019, CAS admitted less than 2,000 students while that number has historically been 2,500 to 2,700, except for 2018 when it was 2,300.
The yield in 2019 was a high of 51% compared to historical yields in the range of 40% to 45%.
Due to low admittance, the enrollment in 2019 was the lowest at ~1,000 compared to historical enrollment in the 1,200 range.
It stands to reason that in addition to this yearâs pandemic situation, there may be capacity in CAS due to low enrollment last year. This is an analytics-based speculation on why they may have sent so many letters last week.
has anyone heard from CALS yet? Just curious
@GettingIn37 I have not heard from them and I dont think that anybody has as well.
