anyone wanna take one for the team and ask the admissions about SHA?
@Senior0991 at this point considering making a fake email to ask human ecology so that they don’t connect it to me if it’s annoying
I was literally preparing to buy Cornell merch before today… My only consolation is that the time of the email (around 6PM) suggests that it was probably the end of the work day, so they may have just sent out that acceptance email to whoever they managed to review that day, fully intending to review more applications later.
It’s not like they knew that everyone on this thread was going to see the acceptance and make assumptions that it was over. Hopefully, CAS “top of list” applicants will see a similar email tommorow.
Only 5 spots left for Dyson??? Hope that engineering isn’t the same… did dyson already have a wave of acceptances?
The person I talked to on the phone said they were going to be able to offer spots to students (plural) on the waitlist. It is still very early in the process, so I think there will definitely be more offers in the future.
@RoaringLion The person I spoke to made it sound like there was a total of five spots, including the one I was offered.
I applied for financial aid, but I am almost positive I will not receive anything. Obviously Im unsure if that had an impact on my admission.
My daughter received an email around 6:40pm saying that she was off CAS waitlist and officially admitted to the class of 2024 (the same exact email as newyorkerinCT). She received the “top of the list” email on 4/29 and had previously sent in a LOCI, additional letter of rec, 3rd quarter grades, and also had her guidance counselor contact admissions. They might accept more students to CAS. Good luck to everyone!
I have not sent the mid year grades yet, I did not know I need to sent the upgraded grades. Should we?
.
@Colstudentmom curious which region you are from?
The fact that these emails were not all sent at the same time suggests that this may not be a batch process and is done individually. Of course, there is always the possibility that I am being overly optimistic…lol
happiness does matter @happinessmatters
I got a call today at 3:10 P.M. and it was an admissions officer from Cornell University College of Human Ecology. He said that many prospects would be offered admission (including me) and that we should get an email in about a day and that we have five days to accept. I submitted 3rd MP grades, a compelling LOCI, I am an NYS resident applying to the “state-part” of Cornell, and a legacy of Cornell.
Any news on SHA since one or two people posted on this thread that they got in on 4/23? Also, did most people send in an additional letter of rec (as I Cornell never presented that as an option on the waitlist, but I’ve heard it’s not a big deal either way)?
@jtg920 did you apply ED? and is “many” the exact word that the AO used?
Maybe I am optimistic but the following section in the acceptance letter suggests that they will be generating more admission offers emails tomorrow and possibly even Thur, especially given that today’s offers started late in the day.
“Please check your online decision at your Cornell portal at the end of the business day this Thursday, May 7th. We must receive your enrollment deposit within five business days of the online notification (at the end of the next business day this Thursday), or within five business days after your financial aid offer if that is later.”
@jtg920 @ydd777 if you’re comfortable sharing this, are you guys expecting financial aid/ did you apply for it?
I took one for the team and emailed CALS (also because I had an update). Who here is a food science major nervously binge-watching J Kenji Lopez Alt while waiting for an L from the waitlist?
@happinessmatters From CT
Thank you!
And that is interesting- because the 2 people @Colstudentmom and @newyorkerinCT who have so far got admissions both seem to be from the great state of CT.
So maybe the AOs of other states work on the letters tomorrow?
