Cornell Waitlist Class of 2025

While I don’t owe you an answer, as both a parent and involved alum family we do have skin in the game and you may not but there are plenty of people who find our information helpful. If you don’t then scroll on by, no need to comment.

Sorry you don’t love you school and all the stress you’re under. But that is unfortunately how life works and if accepted to Cornell the stress or workload is not going to get any better.

As for financial aid, it’s a tragedy that schools are not coming through with financial aid for their students this year. There is a large disparity between what a school’s EFC spits out and what is then given in financial aid. Unmet need unfortunately doesn’t mean free and that’s a hard pill to swallow. Cornell unfortunately is notorious for doing similar. There are many parents still waiting on their financial aid packages from the RD period and/or some who are/were waiting for appeals who’s appeals were denied. This is a common problem here and complaint among parents in the parent group. Wherever you end up just remember whatever you package is, you’ll need to add more in expenses because it never costs what their COA claims. Add a few thousand to that number. Cornell all in freshman and sophomore year is probably close to $80k. After that probably more because off campus housing is a ripoff. You should research that at your other school too. It’s disgusting what these landlords charge for crappy apartments and the schools do nothing about it. Cornell is at least requiring next year’s freshman to live on campus for two years so that may help although not everyone wants the unlimited meal plan and that’s also what they’re now requiring.

Good luck to you! Depending on how things shake out for international students if you’re not one, maybe you will have a shot. Also, with the students who have an extension based on their financial aid packages. That’s where the other openings on the waitlist may come if any.

Jeez. I would hope this is a friendly space. My daughter is accepted to Cornell (and enrolling) but I’m still curious about the WL for her university. Lots of people not on the WL read this thread.

Do yall know anyone who has been accepted into Global and Public Health? Has anyone received an acceptance letter in the mail?

anyone heard anything from CALS recently? we are NY instate

Anyone here heard back from CAS?
Also, is there any international applicant who got off the waitlist?

Thanks guys best wishes

My son was waitlisted CAS and has not heard anything. Although he did not send a LOCI either.

CAS here, too. I hope after Monday we will hear something if the commitment date doesn’t get pushed back again, though I would assume some should have received their FA packages and made the decision already.

Cool thanks

You think some waitlisted applicants will get off the list or do you think it’s already closed?

Thanks best wishes

do you know anything about CALS waitlist?

has anyone called cals and heard if they are going on the waitlist?

I think Cornell will tap into the waitlists, though the movements for SHA (moved a little a few weeks ago already) and Dyson (due to its small size) might be very limited.

I heard the aid given out this year is not that great. Some admits might decline their offers but IF we get off the waitlists we might have the same problems/concerns about the FA.

sorry guys I totally forgot to call CALS that day lol. does anyone know the phone number by any chance? when I tried searching, I only found the email address for their undergraduate admissions Contact Us | CALS

also for CAS, someone on reddit emailed them and this was their response (but apparently they’ve been saying ‘very soon’ for awhile now so not sure how helpful it is):
Thank you for your message. We expect to send out decisions to waitlist students very soon. Thank you for your patience.

When I contacted Cornell Admissions team, they basically told me that they hope to give all the students more information either way by mid-June.

What college is this for?

I guess mid-June is around the time when they’ll start closing off waitlists

I would withdraw, it makes it harder for them if you don’t and it probably hurts the chances of other students.
