What do you mean?
Like for the results of the waitlist.
no I just checked my portal and their was a new status
For CAS I got an email that my status changed and then there was the rejection email
that’s not a TO. TO will clearly state they are giving you a “Transfer Option”-- they’re encouraging you to transfer in the email though
Did anyone get the transfer option for CAS?
any news for ilr?
Has anyone received an update for Dyson?
Does anyone know if Dyson offers a spring transfer option?
and any update on cals? curious why it’s taking so long for them to see if they will go on the waitlist ahh
i emailed them yesterday and their response was that they currently don’t have any updates for wl students and will hopefully know more in the coming weeks
ahh thank u, makes sense. in my communication w them a few weeks ago, they said the same thing of like next week so was curious if there have been changes to that
So another round of app! Let us get over this first, hard to swallow this mentally (I know, we were not supposed to keep our hope up). I do feel like we we led on to believe they were gonna take someone off.
any one from CALS today?
Honestly, the chance for CALS to go into the waitlist is very slim. With the high yield historically, they can manage their enrollment a lot easier than other schools. There was no one reporting admission from the waitlist for CALS last year, but a few transfer options in late June. TO may be the best we can hope for.
I emailed the regional AO anyway. Let’s see her response.
anything from CoE?
what did you ask the regional AO?
Ik they’re not doing spring admission this year :,)
Yes, another round of app! To put it in simple terms “it is what it is”, none of us have the power to change the CAS WL outcome. In a positive spirit, I will say this, if you are sure that you still wish to attend CAS in the future, think about it this way: you probably get to save yourself some money, and not have to go from HS to “ivy league pressure” and you’ll maybe gain some life experiences that you wouldn’t have had at Cornell. If you were a WL applicant that means that Cornell considers you ~qualified~, which surely will be a leg-up to get an acceptance in the future. Work hard at the college you committed to and I would suggest searching up your major’s prereqs at Cornell and take similar classes to demonstrate your academic competence in the subject. All the best, this is only a small bit of your life story!
I just asked about the waitlist status and if there is any timeline. It’s most likely going to be a general reply.
So you mean they don’t do spring admission for all the schools, or only CALS?
I think only a few schools offer the spring admission. I believe you have to be selected for the first year spring admission program. I don’t think you can just apply again during the fall for the spring semester. It’s different from transferring after one year. Anyone can apply to transfer after a year or after two years. People WITH the transfer option and people WITHOUT the transfer option get accepted as transfers because at that point they have proved they can handle real college classes, the environment, have more extracurriculars, and professors to advocate on their behalf. The reason I don’t think you can just apply for the spring is because by the time you have to submit your application you don’t even have your semester grades and barely have a meaningful relationship with professors to the point they can truly speak about your work ethic and character. For those reasons, they probably select students for spring admission kind of similar to the program USC has.
