<p>mollie, ohh MIT has interviews in feb and first week of march... and harvard should have recruitment weekend in mid of march... and thanks for disperse some of harvard myth i've been hearing from various people :) but prof told you that they had tenure first kind of make me suspecious, cuz normally thats not something i expect prof to do...</p>
<p>Well, it's something that students are justifiably concerned with. I mean, you don't want to start your PhD in a lab, then have to either switch advisors or institutions if your PI is denied tenure. That's a nightmare that I personally would very much like to avoid.</p>
<p>So MIT's second weekend overlaps with Stanford's this year? That's dumb.</p>
<p>just a quick dumb question: is it gonna be bad if i don't / cant drink at all during all those social events :</p>
<p>There will always be nonalcoholic options available. I'm not much of a drinker, and I don't think I had any alcohol at any of my recruitment weekends -- just drink soda or water, and nobody will think anything of it.</p>
