THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
You seem to have an interesting story and application. Be sure to tell it well and use the essay to your advantage. You clearly have a passion for politics. Have you also considered GTown, American, and GW?
@YesPolyglotGal Thanks so much for your comment! I love politics, that and history are my passions. Do you think my application gives me a good shot at either one of these schools, or Georgetown, American, and George Washington? I am looking at all as potential transfer schools. Thanks A LOT for your input!
@stephenvan
Yes. I do think that your application does give you a good shot at these schools. You have a wonderful upward trend. Going from a 2.7 in high school to a near 4.0 in college? That is absolutely phenomenal and it indicates that you have turned yourself around. Did you have any extenuating circumstances that prevented you from doing well, academically, in high school? If you do, I guess it is good to slightly mention them; you want an essay that proves that you are capable of doing well at one of these schools.
Apparently, in terms of transfer admissions, colleges like to see excellent grades/an excellent GPA, very strong recommendations, and involvement/ commitment to an area; this indicates that you truly may need to switch up where you are for a more advanced curriculum and a different environment. You do have an excellent GPA, you do present commitment to politics, and you do have “very very strong” recommendations. So you do, in fact, fit that criteria.
Really present your case to these people in your essay. Be very specific in the supplements. When I say that, I mean that when you take out the name of the school to which you’re applying, based on what you have written, it should be clear that you are speaking about that school.
This truly does look like an excellent application and I am confident that you will end up at a wonderful school. I wish you the best of luck!
