Cornell

how easy is it to transfer schools within cornell
how easy is it to transfer majors within the same school in cornell??
thanks

Specifics? Should probably post this in the Cornell forum.

what specifics?
ok

like which school to which school...within cornell....

so u've decided to attend cornell afterall...
anyhow, IDT depends on A LOT on ur standing, reason being that u need to stay one semester at ur current school before actually making the transfer.
if u're entering as a sophomore, u may transfer into any schools easily given that u're able to complete all pre-reqs >= a certain GPA before junior yr;
if u're entering as junior, u have a slim chance of transferring b/c it's too difficult to make up all the pre-reqs required by the specific school that u're trying to get into. Unless, of course, u choose to delay graduation for a semester or a yr.
Hope this helps answering ur question.

no i havent decided that... im just curious....... please dont assume...
so basically i have no chance at trasnfering

have you consider perhaps asking admissions? maybe they would have better understanding of these variants.

it is not hard, it is all about your gpa..

i've heard it pretty easy as long as they have space and you have done well in the other college

so you HAVE to be in the other college/major for some time before you transfer?
Or can you transfer BEFORE you even start at Cornell...

Since u've been accepted for 3rd standing, I assume you were asked to put down a major on ur appl. So once you're matriculated into the school, u're placed into the intended major that u've indicated on ur appl. You may apply for ITD once you start at Cornell, but u would definitely need to stay one semester in ur current school before making any ITD since u don't yet have any records at Cornell.

ITD?
thanks for your help

ITD stands for internal transfer division
And you're very welcome.

i read on the ITD site that successful internal transfers are around 95 percent.

even before you start cornell?
whats the link please

Of course not before you start at Cornell. Try calling Cornell Admissions, they should direct you to the ITD office. And I imagine they would probably tell u the same thing I've told you about the transferring process since I know a friend who had done the transfer from Eng. to Arts.
