Transfering between Cornell schools

I know this has been brought up a million quadrillion times lol :) here, but I wanted to know specifically if it's possible to transfer from one to another after 1 semester, as long as I let my academic advisor know before hand. BTW, I am a Presidential Research Scholar if that means anything....

This link ought to give you all the answers you are looking for:

You need to meet the requirements of the College or School at Cornell you are applying to inorder to do a direct transfer. It looks like you have to spend the first two semesters in the college you applied to before you can transfer.

First semester freshman and students who are withdrawn from or on required, voluntary or medical leave from other Cornell colleges are not eligible for direct transfer, but may be eligible for sponsorship in the ITD if certain conditions are met.

Q&A: Can I change my major or college after I get to Cornell?
Yes. We feel that students should be able to follow their academic interests as they evolve without having to leave Cornell. There are a few rules, though. First, students must remain in the college to which they were admitted for at least two semesters. After that, an internal transfer to another college is possible, assuming the student is in good academic standing. Internal transfers are typically decided at the end of each semester by an Internal Transfer Committee made up of advisors from each of the seven undergraduate colleges. For specifics on the internal transfer process, students should consult a staff member of the advising office in their college.

From reading about that, I can possibly do ITD and get a sponsorship and transfer into another school after 1 semester.

Which school were you admitted to and where do you think you want to transfer to??

you can be in ITD after one semester, so essentially in one college first semester, in narnia second, and third semester at the new college. hope that helps.

what does narnia mean??

narnia = lingo = you don't belong to any college, but in your own special world.

it says u need to be in good academic standing....but maybe thats why u are switching into another college...no?? i mean...say i go in engineering and find it not for me, and too hard...but switch to like phyiscs or astronomy or spanish or wutever in arts and scie...will i not get in cuz i couldnt do good in enigneering for a whole year??? seems strange to me

If you have a 3.0 or above, you can transfer i hear.

collegekid1988, what school do you want to transfer to? What college were you admitted to?

I was admitted to Arts/Sciences, but I may want to transfer to Ag for AEM or maybe Engineering or maybe HE for Policy Analysis and Management. They all sound interesting....
