Next fall I will be attending GMU and have been accepted into the Cornerstones program. Has anyone on this site gone through this program and if so, was it worth it? I am only two classes shy of receiving an associates degree due to DE classes through my local CC. I looked through the courses that this cornerstones program fulfills, however, and after reviewing the transfer guide from the CC I’m dual-enrolled at and the AP equivalencies, I apparently only have already fulfilled the requirements in the Literature, Social Science, and Natural Science categories (which confused me greatly, I guess the CC and GMU just have completely different requirements). I really want to pursue this program regardless of the credits because it seems like academically it will greatly benefit me, I would just really like to hear others’ experiences with the program.
I was accepted as a Government and International Politics major, but want to double in that and Economics (BA) through the college of Humanities and Social Sciences if this helps.
Regarding the LLC, I REALLY want to join one especially my freshman year. I was planning on applying for the Global Studies and the community involvement one, but if I decide to do cornerstones I absolutely want to join that one. How difficult exactly is it to get into a LLC? Do they only take into consideration the essays you provide or do they look at other factors?
Thanks all for any insight you can offer!
