Coronat?

Has anyone been invited to apply for any of the SU scholarships yet?

Is that only for early decision applicants or are regular decision applicats also chosen into that?

From what I read in earlier CC posts the invitation goes out to the 100+ highest ranked appplicants, ED or RD.

I heard that was only for the college of arts and sciences. Is that correct?

I believe that the Coronat is only for A&S or dual with A&S. I'm not sure whether the Citizenship Education Scholarship is the same.

What is the Citizenship Education Scholarship?

if you google it you get some idea -- admitted students are invited to write an essay and then some are invited to participate in a conference/debate at SU. The winners get scholarship awards.

I got an email today that invited me to apply for the Coronat Scholars program. I'm really excited, it sounds great!

Edit: I applied RD if it matters to anyone.

I got one too! The essays are going to require quite a bit of thought and time, though.

I also applied RD. I'm wondering if I actually have a shot.

hey i got an email too. do you guys know how many people get the emails? then how many are interviewed? i know only 10 people get the coronat in the end..

Can some of you who got the email share some stats plz?

I got a letter on Saturday. I'll post stats later if I remember.

Brief rundown of my stats: 2290 SAT; 4.35 W, 4.0 UW GPA, 1/160 class rank. A little of everything for my ECs--athletics, community service, art/music, church involvement, several leadership positions, but nothing mind-blowing. Same with my awards.

okay, time to clear up some of this stuff. I am a Coronat scholar at SU. it's only for A&S or dual A&S (if you were mag journalism and poli sci, for example). Not sure how many get sent the letter, but there were I think 18 of us that came up and interviewed last year--definitely a good time full of free food.

Maxwell Cit Ed is completely separate; it's a scholarship contest held by Maxwell. You defend your paper at a conference, and Prof. Coplin will tear them all apart (don't worry, he's actually an awesome guy). The papers are ranked and scholarships are awarded based off of that and your participation in the conference.

Coronats who get invited but don't get the full scholarship get the Founders Scholarship, which isn't half bad. That one is throughout the university.

Hope this helps; PM with any questions!

When do the invitations for the Maxwell Cit Ed conference come out?

So glad I finished that application! Now we wait...

No kidding...I finished mine and sent it with 17 minutes to spare.

already asked this i think, buy do any of you guys know how many people were invited to write the essays (: ?

I think I remember hearing a figure of approximately 100, but I could be wrong.

Does anyone know when we find out if we received the scholarship, or made it to the next round anyways?
