Correcting Mistakes

I may have made a small mistake on the USC application which I submitted for the Dec 1 deadline. Is there a way to notify the admissions office, possibly by email, of a change?

Yes you can notify the Admissions Committee.

If I remember correctly, my daughter sent a fax when she needed to do that.

Fax # is 213 821 0200 (if this is the same as a year and a half ago)

Or you can send an email,

Or for follow-up application materials and correspondence, by mail to:

USC Office of Admission
John Hubbard Hall
700 Childs Way
Los Angeles, CA 90089-0911

Be sure to include your USC ID number or SSN

the same thing happened to me. I noticed a grammaticial mistake on the personal statement after I submitted it on Dec.1st… I just emailed one admission officer and she told me to send the correct text to her so she can add it to my file. You should either call or email the admission commitee just to make sure.

It’s really not necessary to fret over minor mistakes like typos and such in the essays. USC understands these things happen. The Admission Committee won’t hold a small mistake against you. They are much more concerned about substance.
My D noticed a little mistake she made (leaving out a word) which upset her, but it did not affect her admission nor her success in securing a merit scholarship.

If there’s a real mistake such as an error in GPA (my D’s case, a mistake her HS made, to her benefit) or in other academic info, then it should be communicated.
