Correspondence with Tulane

Have any of you guys heard back about anything from Tulane (e-mails/mail) since you submitted your deposit (excluding the automated deposit confirmation e-mail)?

nothing here.

I was sent an online survey that I can't get to work.

^^^me too, Rage

oo actually igot that too but it wont work

What about dorms, when I accepted and sent my deposit check one and have heard nothing yet

yeah i know- strange. i guess it could be awhile with the new orleans mail system, but what happened to those persistent e-mails that I'm sure we all got? i might sound like a loser, but i miss them; i'm slightly freaked out that they never got the acceptance of my finaid offer in the mail.

me to armcp I wish they would email me something. When I called that said that they would start sending us some stuff after MAy 1st. I think we may have all signed up to go to a slightly disorganized school.

we've been duped!

I knew it! They accepted everyone that applied then took the money and ran! Pres. Cowen is probably in the Bahamas right now enjoying the $300 deposit of thousands of students!

Tulane is offering a special short session right after the spring semester ends this year, because they didn't have a fall semester. I'm sure everyone at the school is involved with making sure the short session gets started smoothly.

Then they will be able to turn their attention to the incoming class. Because if they don't, we parents won't send in anyomore money and then Dr. Cowen will have to come back from the Bahamas!

haha, but why would the undergrad admissions office be managing lagniappe?

Well, I'm really trying to give them the benefit of a doubt. I've been hoping they would get the orientation information updated, so we can make arrangements.

Even before Katrina, Tulane's website was outdated! My son is a current senior, and I remember thinking when he was admitted as a freshman that Tulane needed a new webmaster. As a matter of fact, I posted 4 years ago on CC about colleges with subpar websites.

So you see, Tulane hasn't changed in this area due to Katrina! If you are looking for information, it is best to call the office responsible and hope you can get an answer.

Yeah, the Lagniappe semester starts next Monday, and they still haven't told me where I'm going to be living. They're closing the dorm I was staying in. Apparently the housing office has more to deal with this year and are understaffed as well. They don't plan on telling all the people that were in the 3 dorms that are closing, where we will be living until the day or two before we have to move.
