did anyone else that applied early action not get a reply from tulane yet? i applied using the personal application and they sed i'd get a decision within 4 weeks.

It's really four weeks from the time your application is processed - which could take a couple of weeks. Don't panic yet. My son didn't hear until around the second week of Dec.

Yes, my daughter knows that her applications and all supplemental materials were received by Tulane 7 weeks ago. She called to ask why she had not heard yet and was told that it is 4 weeks from the time your information is entered into the computer. Tulane then told her to wait and she would hear by 12/15. So much for the 4 week turn around! I can't imagine it takes over 3 weeks to enter information into a computer. I guess they will send all EA and ED letters out at the same time.

ooh ok. guess its a couple more weeks then. thanks.

I heard on friday.. I got in

my son heard today...sent in app the middle of october

Maybe that means my daughter's will arrive soon.

My son got in today, too bad he got into the school of engineering when he applied to arts & sciences and called about 2-3 weeks ago and they said they would change it.

Yea, I got in as well. Took them 5-6 weeks for reply for me.

i got in too. it took 5-6 weeks reply for me as well.

hey, what were you guys stats. do youi think i will get in. i sent my personal app in oct. 29. sat 1210 uw 3.389 w 3.75 african american

Is Tulane sending out decisions through snail mail only?

Frazzledad, I believe so. I haven't heard of any admissions decisions through email.

My S received his admission letter through snail mail, not e-mail.

Well so much for the personnal application with a four week turn around time. Tulane now has had my daughter's COMPLETE application 8 weeks as of today! Maybe the 4 week decision was only if your application was in by September; who knows. My daughter is just frustrated as she wanted another college under her belt before the holidays.

This is not our first go round with Tulane; my other children also applied. I have never been impressed with the admissions office at Tulane. Out of all the schools we have dealt with, Tulane has been the worst as far as being organized and helpful. I think I mentioned on another thread that my daughter received a second personnal application weeks after her first one was in their office. If there was any chance she didn't want to attend there I would have had her fill the second one out just for fun; maybe she would received 2 acceptances!!

Does anyone know how the honors program at Tulane works? Are notifications sent with acceptances. Is being in an honors program determined by the University or by the individual colleges?

Pokey, have you called the admissions office?

I sent in the final portion of my full application (the online application itself) around Oct. 30. My acceptance letter is dated Nov. 22 and I received it around the 26th. This wasn't even the application where you don't have to pay a fee - I just applied online. I live in east Texas, but otherwise I don't know why I would hear back from them so much sooner than you.

Yes, my daughter did call. She was told she would hear by December 15. They did not want her name; they just gave her a generic response. There are others she knows that also have not received a reply so she isn't worried, just impatient. Tulane should be a safety school for her, but as the response has taken so long, we are beginning to wonder.

pokey, I would not worry at all. Last year my son did not find out until after the December drop-dead date, and he was eventually a DHS receipient.

Finally-the acceptance came today. Again, we were not worried, just surprised with the slow turn around. I don't know if this was the first year of the personal applications; if it is they will have to work the bugs out. If the application hadn't said 4 week notification we would have never expected it so soon.
