COSMOS 2014

Hello, Everyone
I am a junior who is applying to cosmos this summer at the UCSC campus. The two clusters I am applying to are number theory and computer networking. Can anyone who has been in cosmos previously tell me how hard it is to get into the UCSC campus for these two clusters, and how they enjoyed their one month there?
Thanks

Hi! I went to COSMOS in 2012, though I did the Video Games Design cluster so I can’t speak to either of the clusters you are interested in. It’s not very clear how hard each one is to get into, though neither of those clusters were the most popular ones, at least (or at least number theory was not–I don’t believe they had computer networking when I was there). Here are some overall stats for UCSC, though, if you’re curious: <a href=“Showing image (3YMPV) - IMG42”>http://img42.com/3YMPV

As for how the experience was, I can say it was definitely the best month of my life. Everyone was incredibly funny and smart and nice, professors were great, RAs were great, we did really fun activities and it was just overall super amazing. I strongly recommend it to anyone who’s interested :]

@french12 hi! I was just wondering if you got into those clusters… I also applied to UCSC under the Number Theory and Logic cluster with a second choice of Video Games Design. I was wait-listed :frowning: thanks!
