@Scienceisaparty can you share your stats please?
@PVHS2020 can you share your stats please?
@cacollegemom22 I won’t go into details, but my grades are decent even if they aren’t the best. What I believe helped me the most was my essays and my events. They show that I am truly interested about the subject the cluster is about. Also, having a leadership extracurricular really helps as well because I am a co-founder of a nonprofit organization that has made over thousands of dollars.
@dl133048 awesome!
@PVHS2020 thanks! This is helpful for students applying next year
which clusters in UCI are the most popular?
@dl133048 @PVHS2020 If either of you want to get in touch or anyone else who is going to UCI Cluster 2, you can email: firstpr2021@gmail.com
Hey everyone! I am a past COSMOS alumni. I did Cluster 6 at UC Davis in my freshman year. Ask me anything about the dorm life, food, student life, etc. I would be happy to answer!
Hi @herongraystairs!! I also got into UCD but for Cluster 7: Biomedical Sciences!! You seem like an amazing person and I can’t wait to hopefully meet you at COSMOS this summer!
Hi @redwall3000! How was the weather and what is a daily day like?
Also, do you happen to know what people thought of Cluster 7 and if they thought it was a worthwhile experience?
was accepted into UC Davis COSMOS this year; i was wondering if cosmos gives a sizeable boost on uc apps (i also care about learning ofc)

@carolinaboi congratulations!! Which cluster were you accepted to? From what I’ve seen on previous threads, I think there is a place on UC apps to put that you went to COSMOS, but I’m not completely sure. I would definitely say that it depends on which program you got accepted into and how it relates to your major, etc.
hi @livelaughsmile It’s pretty hot in Davis in the summer. Thankfully, the dorms are all air conditioned (yay!!). My advice is to get some ice from the cafeteria and put it in your water bottle so that you can keep cool while you bike/walk to class. As for Cluster 7, let’s just say that you are super lucky to be a part of that group. They are notoriously known for their obnoxious chants but everyone in there is super smart and friendly. I think everyone who has attended COSMOS would have to say it was a worthwhile experience. Not only do you get to do some research, you get to make awesome friends and attend one of the most prestigious STEM camps in the US. Hope this helps!
@carolinaboi COSMOS does give a boost in your UC app, especially for the campus that you attended.
@livelaughsmile accepted into a CS-related cluster at UCSC; looking to do CS in college (hopefully at a UC)
@redwall3000 Thank you so much for replying! Everything you said really helped! I’m really surprised but glad I got into Cluster 7, and now I’m looking forward to it even more Ha ha I’m going to have to get used to the hotter weather (but thank goodness for AC ha ha)–I live in a cooler weather part of CA. A couple more questions
-Which cluster did you participate in when you went to UCD?
-What are the dorms/residential life and food like?
-What type of bonding events did you have and how often?
-In your opinion, what was the best part about attending COSMOS at UCD?
Thank you!!
