@treehugger14 do you happen to know approximately how many they waitlist at UCSD each year?
@bex3109 i don’t know an exact number, but from what they said in the email it varies greatly year to year. but i’m sure if you email them they can answer your question with more information
@GoBears2023 how would you compare SIP to COSMOS for non-uc schools? I’m not sure if the research done at SIP provides more valuable experience compared to COSMOS.
I would say COSMOS is still better. SIP is a local thing and it’s not very well known around the US. On the otherhand, COSMOS is more than likely one of the top 20 STEM programs in the nation.
Also got accepted to UCSC cluster #1. Good to know others in same cluster.
The admission email said need to accept or reject the decision with in 1 week, that put the deadline at 5:00 PM today. However on ported it says deadline is April 12th. Which one is correct? Do not want risk loosing it because of inaction. However also waiting to hear for SIP and other programs before deciding.
It’s April 12, 5 pm; the email is incorrect, the website is often more accurate.
Congrats to everyone who got in!
Does anyone know if they give extensions past April 12 deadline to accept/decline admission?
Did anyone get into Cosmos UCSC cluster 6? If you did plz tell me. I want to get to know more people. Thanks
Also, I think we have to send in our admit packet by Friday
If anyone knows the email address of the people who decide who gets admitted to COSMOS, can they reply to this comment. I want to ask them what I can do to strengthen my application for next year. Thanks!
@GokNar123 I believe it depends on which campus you applied to:
San Diego: cosmos@ucsd.edu
Davis: cosmos@ucdavis.edu
Irvine: cosmos@uci.edu
Santa Cruz: cosmos@ucsc.edu
Does anybody know when UCI sends out the roommate surveys? Is is after we accept or are they all sent out later?
@allthecapybaras For UCSC you have to accept before you get a roommate survey. May be the same for UCI.
@tofudeer
I got admitted to UCI cluster 5 this summer. Besides learning how to record sound and put the music into the apps, are there any features implement into the apps, things like API? I appreciate your information. Thanks.
@jopan1234 Hi! I’m also doing cluster 6 at UCSC.
We should make a UCSC group chat, we can all meet up when the camp comes along.
@Valchoi Yes, you’ll be working with a gyro sensor too and will learn general IOS app making
Great! we should talk sometime
I was filling out the COSMOS roommate survey for UCSC and it never mentioned this, but I was wondering if the rooms will be gender separated? I assume so, but just checking.
