Cosmos?

How good is the COSMOS mathematics cluster? I am in Multivariable Calculus Honors, almost qualified for the AIME (though my score does not reflect that), and have been passionate about math all my life... should I do Logic and Number Theory instead though, because that seems more difficult and the sample Mathematics problems didn't seem too hard?

actually i did qualify for AIME

anyway… the app is due monday, can someone tell me how indepth it is?

Hello :D

So I did the COSMOS Math cluster at Davis last year, and overall it was a pretty decent experience. Personally though, I didn’t feel like I was challenged enough - there was just a lot of basic combinatoric lessons coupled with topology and number theory. The professors were great though - there’s no doubt about that. It was a fun experience, but if you are really serious about math, you should look at some other programs such as AwesomeMath, MathCamp, PROMYS, etc.

BTW I was only in Algebra 2 when I got accepted. Most people there are sophomores. I had a decent AMC 10 score of 132, but I don’t think they care too much about that.
