Cost of Attendance (finaid website)

Hi, so according to the finaid website (<a href="http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/home/cost.htm%5B/url%5D">http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/home/cost.htm</a>), it says the sticker price of Berkeley, or cost of attendance, is approx. 31k per year for California residents.

How much is that figure overexaggerated?

I ask this bc I have 25k covered by financial aid including loans offered by Berkeley but still have 6k left to figure out for myself with my family. Should I just accept the whole package of 25k and leave it at that? Thank you!!

The cost of living per semester for me is about 13k, which 26k a year. I wonder why your cost of living is higher. I am a cali resident as well.

anyway, a friend told me that they are definitely overestimated but it is entirely possible to go over budget if you don’t balance your budget. I am also wondering when I should accept the load because I am not even sure if i will need them.

The difference is whether or not you live on-campus (in the dorms), off-campus, or with relatives.

I’d say that the budget is pretty accurate for dorm living, but it’s slightly overestimated for off-campus and relatives. Just be reasonable and watch your budget. The financial situation should be comfortable though.
