Hi,
I am a senior in high school, and I am interested in becoming a vet. I was wondering what I should look for in an undergraduate school. Should I go to a state school to save money, or should I go to the best school that I get into to maximize my chance of getting into vet school?
What are good pre vet schools? Are your grades more important than where you went to school?
Thank You!

Good questions! A lot of this stuff depends on your family’s financial situation and ability to get need-based and merit-based aid. Can you give us some basic info so we can help you in that regard?

Also, there are a lot of good pre-vet schools, and I would say that yes, grades are more important than prestige. On the other hand, better programs will offer more opportunities for you to get experience (and boost your application).

What you want to do is find out how much your parents are able and willing to contribute. Then check the net price calculators of candidate colleges to see if that amount covers the financial aid expected family contribution. If not, then you need to look for merit scholarships or colleges with list prices below what they are able and willing to contribute.
