I'm just purely curious. I would be going to a public school to keep things cheap.

I was looking on U of Calgary's website and it's something like ~$5k a year without room and board.

I assume that the cost would go down with the change in currency. Is this for all students or do international students pay more? And the site didn't mention room and board. How much might I expect for that on average?

And if any of you are Americans that are going to Canada for college, please share your experiences/thoughts/costs/etc. I don't have family there, but I love Canada and I'd love to move there.

was looking at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto for potential universities for a USA resident. Does anyone know how the potential financial costs with scholarships or other aid, compares with OOS public schools in the US?

I don’t think anyone can give you an answer because the cost of OOS varies by school, and the cost of Canadian options also varies by school, and the specific program.

Well schools such as University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, University of California - Berkeley and University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign are my top choices for public schools.

Most Canadian universities cost between CA$16,000-20,000 for International Students (tuition only) so definitely a cheaper option compared to those Snyder005 mentions. Scholarships are not usually substantial for Internationals.

Yes, Canadian schools are cheaper, most American students can come to Canada and get their schooling done for under $20,000 a year, and that number includes everything from tuition to residence.
