Hello,
I'll most likely go to a community college because of financial reasons. If I major in accounting at the community college and if my transfer school accepts all my credits, could I double major in accounting and legal studies?

Thanks!

Sure, as long as there is space in the schedule.

Sit down with the requirements for those majors at the universities that are on your transfer-to short list, and see how it could work out.

steph, just keep in mind that some schools will make you have to apply to that second major since you transferred in with an accepted major already. Doesn’t make it impossible by any means, just wanted to warn you of a potential extra step. Also, more stingy schools in the double major regard may make you fulfill all the reqs for your admitted major first before adding all the reqs for a second - unless of course the reqs for Major #2 also count for needed electives. This helps them ensure you stay on track to graduate in a timely fashion. Not all schools impose these stipulations, but it would be best to check with each school (either on website, or through the admissions or counseling offices) on your xfer list to see how it would go.

Yes you can. You just have to meet w the department of the major you plan to add as your second major and speak w the advisor. Then you fill out some paper work and you’re set.
