I currently attend a small community college, have also gone to UT tyler. My CURRENT GPA is 2.77 w/ 50 hours, not including this semesters classes that I am currently in. After this semester I expect to have a 2.96 gpa with 63hrs.

A&M's site says, for the General Studies school, "Applicants should have at least a 3.00 GPR and at least 28 hours since graduation from high school, but less than 50 hours passed by their desired date of entry."

I know my GPA sucks... but do i have hope? Does the 50 hours part disqualify me? I have 50 now, will have 50 on my application, but 63 upon enrolling if accepted.

I have mainly taken classes geared towards business, so my 2.77 gpa isn't enough to get me in to May's Busi School :(

Any other A&M schools I can apply to? Deadline is March 15.

Any way i can beg or appeal lol?

Thinking about actually trying for the Kinesiology program at the A&M college of educational and human development. The minimum GPA is 2.5, mine being 2.77, and I'm pretty sure I have enough Track B degree courses, I have mostly A's in them, except for 2 D's (those are what bring my GPA down, Bio 2 and Algebra lol). You think i have a shot?

with low GPA, you really need some good ECs and good essay. If you submit letter of recommendation it would definitely helps too. But remember, 2.77 is not bad is u have finished 50 hrs. good luck

^^^^ Do you include the recommendation letter in the ApplyTexas application?

I dont do any extracurricular activities... except work.

you don't need to but sending extra documents won't harm your either...

yeah, but how do I send the letter of recommendation? and to who?

1st - the university requirement gpa bumped from 2.5 ==> 2.75
2nd - May's requirement for transfer student is 3.0 but actually competitive @ 3.3 or higher (so i'm told)
3rd - you should have a backup university
4th - if you really want to get in a&m, pick another major that require 2.85 gpa
5th - you will first be denied after March 15, but do not loose hope. your application will be subject for reviews after your spring grades are submitted
6th - May 1st is the national day for students(who are accepted) to reply whether or not they will attend, therefore spot will free up. So do try to submit your grade asap.

**letter of recommendaton is a plus, get a professor to write you one and mail it to tamu via express mail. They must have all paper work on hand prior to the deadline or it will be an incomplete.

**also try to improve your grade greatly this semester

that is all the important info i can give. good luck!!!!

I’m in a similar situation and any advice would help since it sounds like I’m in a similar boat with GPA and hours. What major/school did you end up applying to? Did you end up getting into Texas A&M?
