Could I get in?

<p>I have recently become interested in North Carolina after hearing about their great medical program, but I doubt I would be able to get in. Can someone offer advice on what I could do to improve my chances? I'm currently a sophomore so I have time! </p>

<p>I go to a very difficult, large high school in Texas (this is a big issue with North Carolina accepting 82% of their class instate).
GPA: 4.619 (will go up with more APs jr and sr year)

<p>I also got a 186 on my PSAT as a sophomore. This was not very good, but it was without any prep. I hope to do better next year and get a good SAT score.</p>

<p>I think a lot will depend on your SAT/ACT scores. However, looking at just this information, I think you need to get a few more extracurricular/leadership positions. Also, your GPA is fine, but your class rank is a little low for an out-of-state spot. You’d probably get in if you were in-state. Good luck!</p>
