-I have a 4.0 weighted GPA, but a low SAT score (1680 )
- I'm asian, but I'm a Cambodian (most of them don't go to college)
My dad went to DeVry University and my mom never finished high school.
I have a sister who is at Uconn and a brother at a community college.
I would technically be the first one to actually go through this college process correctly ( my older siblings waited about 3-4 years)

Are you American or international? If domestic, the SAT score would likely make Northeastern out of reach.

@sabrinak could you possibly retake the SAT? Your chance at getting in is really slim as of now, but if you increase at at least around a 1750-1800 your chances will be so much higher(though even then its still a fairly low chance). I think you would be at a safe zone from an 1850+ SAT score — Northeasterns admissions standards are going up every year and its getting harder to get in.

Northeastern’s mid 50% SAT for enrolled freshmen is 2020-2190 in 2014. Under 1950 would make NU a reach.

@TomSrOfBoston oh snap i didnt know its competitive – I basing most of what i knew from my own schools charts lol — for some reason a lot of kids from my school get into northeastern with around a a 1900 SAT score (kind of odd)

That data could be 5 years old

It is a very expensive school too, so why this school? You wouldn’t get merit. Are you looking at schools with money n mind? Are you a senior?

Ugh this is such a bummer! I’ve tried so hard to get my scores up, and i’ve done a practice test every single Saturday morning to prepare for the last test( Dec 6th). I was getting in the high 1900’s, consistently. But unfortunately I just couldn’t over come my test anxiety, and it’s too late to take another one( it is past the application deadlines). Well at least I know I tried my hardest, but it’s still a bummer haha.

Well since none of my family really went to school this whole process was so not natural for me ahha. I saw Northeastern and just fell in love with it. And yes, I am a Senior. It was just a dream school I think? I was going to apply for schools of less tuition anyway because money is tough.

Are you just looking for fun now? Do you already have a local university application fully finished?
