Yeah your EC’s aren’t really that unique, you don’t stand out.
Your GPA (UW) is on the low side. Your SAT is not bad.
But I have to say your GPA and EC’s are the things that are going to hold you back a bit.
Apply and see.

You were definitely consistent with the athletics, but I agree with cdz512, for the most part, the ECs aren’t very unique…who are we to say though…it’s all subjective.
In the meantime, just try to stay optimistic! :)

and though statistically the admit rate for ED may be a BIT higher than for RD, applying ED is not enough to make up for shortcomings in one’s application. Rice will accept you if you are qualified and have a strong application. This is the same whether you apply ED or RD. If you are truly committed to Rice and have the financial security to do so, apply ED. But, if either of these two do not apply to you, then don’t apply ED just to increase your chances of getting in. You have to truly want to be here…and the admissions officers can tell who truly wants to be here.

well i dont want the time spent on a probably futile application to detract from my other more realistic choices. So i guess if i have time at the end i will apply
