I’m a junior at a Florida high school. My school is fully dual enrolled, and I will graduate high school with an associate’s degree in aerospace engineering (but I’m also interested in astronomy). I will have completed a programming course in C++, the calc sequence, diff eq, principles of bio 1, college chem 1, and physics (with calculus) 1 and 2; these are the major STEM courses, I’ve taken other dual-enrolled, Pre-IB, AP, and honors courses throughout high school. Here’s my stats:
Ranked 18/110 (84% percentile)
GPA:
4.41 (W)
3.91 (UW)
SAT:
1430 (740-math, 690-cr, 19-essay)
I’m planning on retaking this.
ACT:
I just took it last weekend, don’t know my scores, don’t feel good about it.
Extracurriculars:
Art Honors - 9th grade (I know this won’t matter much) - no leadership
Spectrum (an LGBT/GSA type club) - 10th grade, 11th grade, and (hopefully) 12th grade - secretary, and I will be running for VP this spring
NHS - 11th grade (not available for 10th graders to join at my school) and (again, hopefully) 12th grade- no leadership
Phi Theta Kappa (2-year college honors society) - 11th grade and (guess what, hopefully) 12th grade - Student Government Liaison
Interact (volunteer organization, works with Rotary International) - 11th grade and (surprise, hopefully) 12th grade - no leadership
Student Government (for the 2-year college) - 12th grade (I was just elected as liaison and will join in Fall 2017) - PTK liaison
I also make art; for example, I run a Redbubble (I don’t know if I should mention this since it’s like a DeviantArt except I get paid?) and have sold various pieces, I’ve designed and managed t-shirts for Interact, and I’ve done little bits of work in my free time. Honestly, I don’t know if colleges will care about ANY of this, but I put it here just in case.
I have over 150 volunteer hours, I have two jobs, and I’m applying for an internship with AFRL for this summer.
I’m also looking at UC Berkeley, U Toronto, and Georgia Tech. I’m applying to CalTech and Stanford just for kicks, and UF and Embry-Riddle as backups.
