So I didn't start the marking period off right and I think I might get rescinded. My teacher is having us redo part of a test and the other part remains the same. Overall the class did not do well on either and I am afraid that with so few grades left (school ends in about a month), I won't be able to bring my grade up enough (even if I get As on my two tests). I spoke with my teacher and guidance counselor and they don't think I would get my admission rescinded since we still have finals (and I know I can get an A on the final) & my teacher said everything will work out, but I still find it hard to see the bright side when I'm panicking about getting rescinded. I have all As and one high B currently, 3.95 UW and a very rigorous schedule and haven't had senioritis, I just messed up on that one test (I FULLY understand the material now that we reviewed). My counselor said I shouldn't freak out over this & she doesn't want to ask Cornell about rescission because it could raise red flags, but I can't stop thinking about it and I think the stress is making me sick, it's that bad. The class is AP Physics C, by the way.

Unless you fail the class, chances are you’ll be fine

I swear, these threads about getting rescinded get more ridiculous every day. Next thing you know, you’ll have someone panicking because they didn’t get over a 100 in a single class second semester, the horror!

Honestly, listen to yourself here. You’re worrying about getting rescinded for a B+. If you’re this neurotic about grades now, then you’ll be in for a surprise once you actually arrive in Ithaca.

Good luck!

I apologize for not making this clear. Those grades are in my other classes. My grade in physics is failing because the old test is the only grade currently. Even with As in the other tests the part that isn’t retakable is a 50. I’m afraid I won’t pull it up to a C because with the next test which hasn’t been graded, I know I can bring it up to a D.

Could you just drop the class?
Just study hard and do your best on your finals. Leave the rest to fate.
You might get rescinded if you get below a C- in the final grade. Even if below C-, if everything else is As and Bs, I think the admissions office might let you slide.

UPDATE: My teacher is giving us more assignments to bring up our grades since many people are failing & he told us not to worry about this one low score, so I feel a lot better knowing that I’m not the only one.
