Hello friends,

Do you think I could get a full scholarship to my local Community College?

My GPA is 3.4/2.9 and SAT of 1700.

If not, how would I get a scholarship?

I might be ignorant on this because I think my bro got a full ride to a college because he had a high GPA and ACT score.

And it would be nice to not pay anything for college until I transfer.

Community College, at least in Maryland, is around $2000/year. You can easily accumulate the $4000 needed before transferring without even having perfect stats.

First things first: make a Fastweb account and a Cappex account. These are scholarship search engine websites with various competitions and awards.

Next, talk to your guidance counselor and research local scholarships. I was offered (and respectfully turned down) a full ride to my local 2-Year Community College for a speech I gave to a group of students about entering the workforce. The more you get involved, the more you can make. I didn’t expect to be offered anything when I did that, I was approached afterwards.

Apply for a lot of scholarships. You’re bound to win a couple.

Best of luck man.
