I would just like to clear some things up after I’ve been realizing things today… I have full tuition covered with bright futures, and I got a $10,000 pegasus scholarship. So all that’s left is room and board for maybe one or two years my sophomore/junior year. Today I realized that UCF will still give grant aid, and that FAFSA may lower my room and board price (my EFC is ~8k). With bright futures, the scholarship, and grant aid, could I go to UCF for free and maybe even get money back?
With an EFC of $8k, you will not get a Pell grant. You might get a SEOG for $1-2k or some money from the state of Florida but I don’t think your grant money will be more than that.
Is your Pegasus grant $10k per year? If so, yes you’ll have enough money to go for free with VERY careful planning. If it is $2500 per year, that with a BF award of about $7000 will not cover tuition, fees, room and board.
Still a good deal.
