I assume you would be applying for CS? If there’s another school you’d consider at CMU you may want to apply there as well since CS is very competitive as I’m sure you know. I’d say you have a shot: you should definitely apply. If you have any other questions about admissions or CMU or the CS program specifically feel free to ask.

You definitely have a shot don’t worry! I hope you get in :)

I’m not applying for CS - I’m applying for either Information Systems of Decision sciences. The thing is, is that my test scores are terrible. My subject tests…yeah. Also, I’m taking statistics and not calculus this year.

You’re more than qualified qualified for decision science. Your courselad has humanities APs and you have humanities activites.

IS, however, is kinda tough to chance. I know people who made SCS and Tepper that were waitlisted/rejected from IS. That said, you have a good shot if you write your supplement well. Good luck!

I’m applying to both Decision Science or Cognitive Science. Do I have a chance?

Every spring break I go to Tijuana to build houses with my local church (I am leading a team this year) I am in the Honors Society and have been certified as a Scholar Athlete. I did an intense in-depth and super competitive leadership program summer 2012 and got a letter of rec from one of my advisers.

^ You’ll probably get in for Cog Science/Decision Science. Your GPA and SAT are great for Deitrich. You also have some excellent ECs. In the future though, you should start your own chance thread instead of jacking someone else’s thread.

@FateGoneAwry16 oh crap my bad! Im sorry… Still getting used to the etiquette on this forum! But thank you for the response you have no idea what it does to soothe my nerves… Sorry again! haha

Do you think it is worth submitting an AIME score of 3 or 4 to CMU SCS?
