<p>My Counseler that I've known very well for 3 years is retiring this year, right before college application time! She'll be replaced by someone from like another State who I know nothing about - advice on getting a good rec. from the new one?</p>
<p>Have your old one write the rec, if possible. Clear it with the colleges you're applying to first, and then approach your counselor. Can't hurt to at least try.</p>
<p>If it's not OK, then include your old counselor's rec as an addition. I'm sure you can find a way to make it work in your favor.</p>

our APENG teacher is retiring after this year, and he is allowing us to personally contact him when we want him to write recs. hes so nice :)</p>
