I heard that AOs verify things partially through LORs, and that it would raise red flags if you have leadership, ECs, and awards not mentioned in the letters.
Do you usually give a list of ECs, leadership positions, and awards to your counselor for when they write your LOR?
At our children’s high school, they provided a “fill-in the blank template”.
You added:
- Stats
- Teacher’s names (that were providing LOR’s),
- sports and levels and Coaches names
- ECs
- jobs, including babysitting
- awards and any in progress
and schools applied and order of preferences

The schools the collegekids attended had something similar for both the GC & the teachers. One other piece was where you were applying, and a space for the student to note anything in particular that they would like highlighted in the LOR (no promise that it would be- just a chance to flag it)
