Countdown to Acceptance Letters

Haha, optimists unite! I'm too brain-dead and boy-deprived to say anything else... I just found out people were betting on me and my ex-ex-boyfriend going back out... And his own best friend (who knows him pretty well) bet $50 against it! Too bad I like him so much, haha.

45 dayssssssss

GRAWR. Me want time travel... Oh, thank god that when I google my name (and several spelling variations of my name) nothing but old track season records come up from our Owego invitational... :)

eek, i agree. those admissions officers .. ._O

HAHA. owega invitational? lucky. when i search my name .. this hong kong pop star woman comes up. & when i search DiveAlive, i get a youtube video! haha. thank you, mom, for giving me such a common name. :D

Haha, yeah, thats the town next to ours. Medium sized school, they have a huge track meet and publish the results online. We got 4th out of 10 schools in the 3200m relay. :)

44

It's not really 44 until mickmouse does his "44 dayssss"

hahaha

well then

44 DAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

whoot whoot! I'm excited for the 40th day!

So, what are your guys' fave books? How many books do you think you'll bring if you get in?

I am planning on bringing a whole truck load of books. First there are the books that are light, with a happy ending, simple to read, like Twilight, Ella Enchanted, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, ect. Then there are the harder books that are intersting to read, but you actually have to stop and think about; Pride and Predujice, Wuthering Heights, Sense and Sensibilty, ect. THEN you have classics (even though these ones ^ are too) such as Harry Potter, Alice and Wonderland, Lord of the Rings, The Winnie the Pooh Book (weird, in know), The Golden Compass, ect. Plus, then, if your like me, you sometimes have weird translations into other books (I have Harry Potter in Latin, and I can only read A LITTLE, LITTLE bit, lol.). You have usually have something from Shakespeare (I've been trying to get the book with all his writing in it for Christmas, and have yet to succeed.) Finally, you have all your personal weird books, that are not always good, but you look back and think 'I might want to read that again some day', which would be books like Hoot, the tamora pierce books, Desparuax, The Theif Lord, Inkheart, ect.

Haha and THEN you will have all the books you want to read, because you know you might not have an oppurtunity to go to a bookstore of the semester.

And then, of course, you have your dictionaries, references, translator books, scrapbooks, picture books, magazines, ect., ect., ect..

And then you will figure out that there is physically not enough room in your boarding room to keep all these books----I say get rid of the roommate :) ------just kidding

PS. benelolent- I am a girl, the username came from a horse I used to own :)

i dont take any offense at all, but some of these books that I like could seem a little odd coming from a guy. :)

Well, I'm planning on bringing a ton of books too! My plan is on the day we move in, I bring in books in order of importance to me, and whatever doesn't fit gets shipped back with the mother!

So, you basically named all my books! In order of awesome importance to me:
Harry Potter (series, plus Beedle the Bard and Fantastic Beasts)
Artemis Fowl (series, which I have yet to buy but I WILL, I have the latest one)
Tamora Pierce (Alanna and Protector of the Small series)
Lord of the Rings (got the boxed set last year <3)
Inkeart, Inkspell (the movie is coming out!)
Ella Enchanted, basically anything by Gail Carson Levine (<3)
And my mangas- Chibi Vampire and Chobits, which I am still in the process of collecting!

That does sound like a lot, haha! I'm probably going to be using under-the-bed, in the desk, in the closet, in the bookcase, and in the dresser storage. Haha. :)

we'll jusy keep thinking postitive :]

Haha yep! Who cares if we might not even get in.

Does anyone else find the balance between selling yourself and the school selling itself odd?
Like, one minute, you're presenting yourself with your grades ECs and SSATs, and then the next minute the school is toting its courses and activies and SAT average??

AND another I have to have in my dorm...

Instant cappuccino mix. Gaawd love this stuff. Four-five cups a day on weekends, I'm such a nasty person, haha

Do any of the schools have starbucks on/near the school?

YES! Andover has one literally a 2-minute walk from the main campus, and practically across the street (I think) from Abbot cluster. I saw kids doing Biology homework in the back of the starbucks. I was jealous :/

I need to go there I'm like addicted I think I need my starbucks in the morning

The campus bounds include the town I think... You're allowed to enter town at any time when you don't have class/other commitments.

oh wow :O

we have to bring .. a debit card/ATM card, right?
ouch. if there's a starbucks right across, i'll be
A) over-caffeinated ALL THE TIME
B) distracted, thinking about strawberry fraps ALL THE TIME
C) BROKE! ALL THE TIME!
haha. i doubt my mom will let me bring money at all :@

I'm gonna be poor I constantly get starbucks I'm gonna need a like starbucks fund
