Countdown to March 10th!

Yeah I’m so anxious! I just learned I won’t be home on March 10, I will be on a bus…hha

SPS’ grounds are not arranged in a circle, and I have never heard anyone refer to the grounds as the “Circle”. Isn’t that Groton? SPS’s buildings are laid out more like a small town, along streets and are pretty spread out. It’s a long walk from Drury to the Schoolhouse in the dead of winter.

Yeah I didn’t think SPS was like that, I’m pretty sure Middlesex has what they call the “circle”. Probably the same as Groton.

Does anyone have applications due today (Feb. 1st)? My applications for NMH, Dana Hall, Emma Willard, and Mercersburg are due today. However, my Lawrenceville application was due yesterday, and I just mailed out the SSAT supplement today. Do you think this will ultimately be a problem? Also, NMH still hasn’t received my Personal Recommendation, should be worried?

No, starkali it won’t. In fact, I just emailed Lawrenceville with the same exact question because I did the same thing, and they said it would not be a problem.

Okay, thank you. Also, I sent the TABS recommendations to SSAT for my Lawrenceville application. I know I should have sent the SSAT recommendations, but I didn’t want to have to ask my teachers to fill out recommendations again. Will this be a problem?

No I did the same too.

Oops. Sorry guys. My memory must be fuddled up. I guess this is why revisits are so important. xD

5 weeks!!!

So it’s been confirmed…I will not get home until the night of March 10th.
I could:
A) check the online notifications for a few schools, and wait to get home to open the mail for the others
B) Check online notifications for some schools then have my parents text me the notifications from the mail
C) Wait to do it all at home, and ask my parents not to get the mail

What would you do?

I mean, I would say that C would be the most gratifying. Even though I would be dying of suspense, there is nothing more satisfying than opening the letter yourself. Also, I would be embarrassed if I didn’t get in and my parents opened it first, and sitting with all of your friends and getting that phone call would put a damper on the whole trip.

^ I’m not going to be home as well, and I plan to do either option A or C.

Yeah I think I will go for C. I’d like to find out myself. And my friends don’t know I applied, so they will be slightly concerned if I immediately got in a fantastic mood or if I got really quiet and solemn. I will be on a bus, people will notice.

Sharing a story to whittle away the time till M10. Kind of wondering if this has happened to anybody else, too.

At my Andover interview, my interviewer asked me about other schools. Where are you applying to?, What did you think of their interviews?, etc. I didn’t like having to answer questions on my other apps, but I was honest. And then she asked me what my first choice was. I was still telling the truth when I answered Andover. (Andover is really my first choice.) She asked me why, and I answered honestly again, but I’m thinking now that she probably wrote down (mentally, hopefully) “applicant… is… another… suckup… liar…”

Good luck to all, and I hope each of you get into the school of your dreams! I am soo excited for March 10! The anxiousness is killing me! Oh and feel free to PM me :)

CherryRose: Haha, I got the same question too and answered the same way. I was thinking that to myself that he probably thinks I’m being a suck up. But then again, I think Andover knows how great it is and that it is at the top of most students’ lists.

Ahh! I won’t be home on M10 either because we have a national qualifier for debate (can’t miss that  ). Wow, us CCers have a lot going on lol. I think I’m going to check some before I leave for the tournament and wait until I get home for the others. But, if I do get rejected, I hope it doesn’t affect me too much… :D

@helloel and cherryrose - HAHA one of my interviewers laughed so hard and was like HAHAHAHA NO, SERIOUSLY? when i told him that i’d pick that school if i got into all of the schools I applied to. LOL.

@aubreygal - wow! good luck for it :)

Taking the 100th post!

blehjoints: I can’t believe they laughed at that, lol.
I cannot wait until March 10th! I need to keep myself occupied!
