Countdown to MIT Decisions 2013!

I can’t wait to get rejected…

We forgot to mention that about ~800 of you will be on the wait list, which is far worse than rejection. Being waitlisted is the ultimate tease, waiting another few months for the off chance you might win the lottery.

@mrwongburger : I am really sorry to tell but being on the waitlist is equal to a rejection. Just look at the admission statistics from 2012 (http://mitadmissions.org/apply/process/stats</a>) “Applicants accepting a place on the wait list: 766” -> “Number admitted from the wait list: 0”.

Last year, nobody was accepted off the waitlist !

Do you guys think that all decisions are made by now? Or are they really still debating on the applicants this week? Like they said in many blogs (“till the last second”)?

I think the “last second” thing is to make it more dramatic…
But they’re probably still discussing…

They got an awesome pool in their hands this year …right:)??

Right ! And you know why ?
Because we’re in their pool ! :p

Good luck everyone. Just wondering, how is everyone killing time?

Today is practically over!

Tomorrow I’m going to Disney with my girlfriend.

Wednesday will be w/e. Thurs oh god.

Same, spending lots of time with my boyfriend and just sleeping really. Oh, and homework, of course ;)

I’m…

… finishing up two art projects
… writing scholarship essays
… working on video game
… and abstract problems

… yep not getting any sleep this week…

Just found out that there is this beautiful “demo” button on this countdown :
[Generic Calendar/Clock - Countdown to Mar 14, 2013 6:28 PM in Boston](<a href=“Countdown Timer – Time since Mar 14, 2013 6:28 pm started in Boston”>Countdown Timer – Time since Mar 14, 2013 6:28 pm started in Boston)
Try it out !

I’m focusing on dance, p90x, and working out. It’s the only thing that takes my mind off of decisions… O.o

I just love it when I have exams during results and decisions time ;)

How much lower do you guys think the acceptance rate is going to dip?

0…its as low as possible:)

I think they will be more conservative with acceptances this year, if they didn’t accept anyone off the waitlist last year that indicates they may have accepted too many students.

^That’s a good point. Colleges never want to over-admit, they’d much rather go to the waitlist and get that exact number they’re looking for. For that reason, and because number of applications have probably gone up, the admit rate will likely be a little less this year.

How is everyone feeling? For me its a kind of nervous excitement. I don’t know what I’ll do if I get in, but I’m not all too confident in getting in in the first place :/

I’m with ya Hadiram. TBH considering the percentages, it’s tough for me to think I can get in as a deferred applicant. However, I just keep telling myself that you gotta still be hopeful. Ya do everything you can to get yourself the best chances, and then its out of your hands. Hopefully it was enough :P
