MIT to release decissions on 17 March

From MIT admissions: We are aiming to release admissions decisions online on Saturday, March 17th and via postal mail around the same time. We won't be able to confirm this schedule until we are farther along in the process, so please check back here closer to this date for confirmation of this schedule as well as instructions on how to access your online decision.

17 days to go!

Wearin the green?

gah-reat. Now, I can get a rejection on the 17th and have two weeks of depression before all others get to me april 1.
just peachy.

Just received a cold reply from MIT.
I know i am rejected now.

Huh? how did you get a reply?

I mailed some stuff.

what was their reply? "Sorry we already threw away your file so we can't add anything to it"

Aww, what happened to the release date allegedly being on Pi Day? It turned to be exactly that.. "alleged"?

How do you know that? Do you work for MIT?

MIT releases decisions in the week of pi day not necessarily on the pi day itself.

wow...pi day....
i'm sorry for their cold reply, at least you get a reply. they just ignore my emails. ;)

I was an English major, so please excuse me. What day is "pi" day and why the greek letter "P"?

3.14 .. you know....like the area of a circle is (pi)*r^2?
march 14

Abhi08544, what do you mean you sent in some materials? How did you find out by sending in stuff...

Ha! THat is so funny and nerdy of MIT to do that. I love it.

me too :D
...10chars

Oh see that makes perfect sense. MIT wanted this year to finally use their new mini leprachauns to jump out of your monitor, do a little riverdance, and sing an old tale of acceptance or rejection. And if you don't get in, at least you will have some lucky charms and a whimsical dance number

We never heard how Abhi got a "cold reply"---what did they say???

He'll probably take some time to answer, he's doing his finals (as are most Indian students); I'm interested to hear more details myself, I can't believe that MIT would release decisions before the release date.

I don't even think selection for international students has begun yet -- last year Matt mentioned it beginning around March 7.
