rejected hahaha… i was expecting it though. congratulations to all who got in!

Posting for my disappointed son:waitlisted, which is neither here nor there. MIT was his dream school. His high school is middle of road in terms of its reputation but this year they had three acceptance in the early round, so he was not counting on getting in. Based on last years stats, no one was accepted from wait-list. Does some one on the forum know how the wait-list works, i.e. if there are some spots that open up, how does MIT invite people off the wait-list? Is there a numbering system based on when applicant requested to join the wait-list?

Anyone else still not get a decision? It should just be on the page when you log in right?

Nope. It’s at:
<a href=“MIT Admissions”>MIT Admissions;

Can’t believe I was actually accepted…
Congratulations to all those who were accepted!
To those rejected or waitlisted, I am positive you will end up at an amazing school!

congrats and best wishes in all cases. particular thoughts to anyone with a particular school as part of your screen name - most anybody smart enough to post on CC is going to be fine looking back at college from the future.

@xmp there is no ranking on the waitlist. If a spot opens up, they’ll look at their current freshman class for any deficiencies (not enough artists/URMs/etc) and re-examine WLed applicants to determine who will be the “best fit” with this class. Sadly, that means it’s impossible to guess whether a WLed applicant will get in.
