in the meantime, chance me! i will chance you for rice in return :slight_smile: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1623922-prediction-game-all-who-play-will-be-chanced-back.html#latest</a></p>

I’m thinking that decisions might be released on Friday, March 21. I hope it’s earlier! Does anyone have any thoughts/opinions on a date?

I agree with the prediction that decisions will be released on the 21st. I’m just wondering at what time they typically send the emails?

4 p.m. CST.

<a href=“Office of Admission | Rice University”>Office of Admission | Rice University;

Here, it says that we will be notified on April 1st. It doesnt say “by April 1st”, just April 1st. Do you think maybe they decided then was better because of all the problems with the Commonapp?

^How do we report spam?

I feel really stupid for asking, but what’s Esther??? Is that the portal??

@gosackings
Esther is Rice’s overall portal that is connected with many things, mainly for students and faculty. Because we are simply applicants, we simply access the application and financial aid part.

I’m having trouble with my application. I sent the request to my counselors to send my transcript in the middle of February. They didn’t get to it until the last day of February, so she decided to fax it and then told me that she mailed it. Rice still hasn’t received it. I’ve asked her multiple times about it, and she says that they’ll get to it when they get to it. Do you think this will affect my admissions decision negatively?

TarheelOwl call admissions and talk to them. They deal with paperwork issues all the time. Maybe you can email them your copy of it and send a letter to both Rice and your counselor requesting it, so they know you are actively working on it. Or, find someone else at the school to help you get that sent. We have dealt with lost documents getting to the colleges in our family and the colleges have been great helping us resolve the issues. Good luck!

TarheelOwl, is it possible to ask your counselor to submit it through Common App? That was the easiest and fastest solution for me. My counselor sent my transcript through Common App during the last week of February and the next day Rice’s Student Portal had reflected that they had been received.

TarheelOwl, emmcar and collegeisgreat offer good advice. My son received a notice from Rice that admissions had not yet received his midyear report, and the notice specifically stated Rice would not accept them by fax or email, I believe, and preferred the use of the Common App. I believe snail mail was another acceptable option, however, but they warned that the deadline for submission was March 1. I’d call admissions. I bet it’s being processed, but hearing that from the source - or learning if there is anything else you can or should do - might put your mind at ease. Good luck.

Thank you very much for all of your help. I called admissions today and it was just in processing. The Rice portal has updated to show it. I really appreciated your suggestions.

Anyone wanna play a game of “guess when decisions come out”? I am putting my money on Friday, March 21st. (I know rice website usually just says April 1st but most times they release earlier than that date.)

I also think March 21. But didn’t ED results come out on a Monday? I’m hoping for this Monday. That’d be a nice surprise.

I’d go with 21st.
Gosh decisions are coming in waves…we have Northwestern UCLA HMC and so on predicted on 21st…good side is rejection from one won’t hurt that much…

Except for a few (WashU and Vanderbilt), most of my college decisions are at the end of the dreaded “Rejection Week.”

Is next week “rejection week”? And do you know when Vanderbilt decisions come out?

@WAAHHH
Next week is not “rejection” week. I was referring to the last week of March (week after next) which is right up close to the generic “April 1st” deadline to release admissions. Ivies are releasing that thursday and several schools are supposed to be releasing that Friday and/or Thursday as per recent years. Obviously some schools wait till April 1st but a good number release the last week of March.

Vanderbilt’s website says “April 1st” but they almost always release at-least a couple days earlier. I got my decision back in February because I received an “Early-Write” (MOSAIC).

Well, guys, this is THE week. I hope you guys aren’t going crazy waiting for Friday like I am. Best of luck!
