Countdown to RD decisions

We’ll hear from MIT less than 48 hours from now. Just saying.

john f. kennedy once said “no tears now, only dreams.”

If somebody wants to make the results thread and/or the results discussion thread, I’ll lock and sticky them.

…or at least I’ll attempt to, because at the moment it seems like I can’t use any of the mod tools…

I wish you all good luck and hope you get accepted!

If you don’t, here’s some motivation to tell you to never give up on your dreams.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZjtRQMEOmI</a></p>

To quote sylvester stallone in Rocky Balboa (2006),

I would, but noparse seems dysfunctional after the CC upgrade.

LESS than 1 day until…!! In other words, it’s only 24 hours… My heart is already racing. Lol. In a sense, most of you guys and I have been waiting for years for this coming day and time! Man, it’s hard to believe that this is the day already. Freshman (first year in high school) year felt like it was just yesterday; soon enough, I will be freshman again in college (I guess it will be a rebirth of me). I suggest we do a countdown post comment every hour from now until tomorrow judgement time 6:28 pm EST. And for the last 5 minutes. Count down for every minutes until the last minute! (no need to count down the seconds) [Again, you guys can use my optimistic clock to countdown](<a href=“Countdown Timer – Countdown to Mar 14, 2014 6:18 pm in Cambridge, Massachusetts”>Countdown Timer – Countdown to Mar 14, 2014 6:18 pm in Cambridge, Massachusetts)

Okay, I’m going to start the last-day countdown. (read my post above for suggestion :D). 22 hours!

Grumble.

tick-tock-tick-tock 20 hours!

@DanielHendrycks I made a result thread and uploaded the template on google drive. The Size tag doesn’t work either. Thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/1625217-mit-class-of-2018-ra-results-thread.html</a></p>

tick-tock-tick-tock 18 hours!

@harvarddreamer20 it’s actually at 6.28 not 6.18.

<a href=“Countdown Timer – Countdown to Mar 14, 2014 6:28 pm in Boston”>http://■■■■■■/R9IUTR</a></p>

I found out that I got in last year while in a hair salon (for my mother, not me… I was obsessively on my laptop waiting) and on the phone with a friend and texting another friend. All 3 of us did get in and I just remember staring at the screen in shock (it was EA, so it was the first school I got into) and I could barely say anything. I guess I had a pretty decent application (or at least, a few top schools seemed to think so).

I love it here, but whatever happens, I hope everyone finds a school that makes them happy! For me, it’s MIT. I have also realized that none of the websites or CC posts or anything truly capture MIT. Looking back on my first semester, MIT is VERY different than I expected. I love it, but it’s definitely unconventional.

Also just a not-so-quick note: I sincerely hope this will not be a problem, because I have seen too many people feel hurt by rude comments about URM status. If you ARE a URM of some sort and you get in, don’t let ANYONE tell you that it’s only because of your URM status. If you get into a school, it’s not just the color of your skin or your parents’ ancestry or your gender… it’s you, as a whole person. I’m a Hispanic female and even if people never said things directly, the indirect comments hurt just as much (“Oh, I didn’t get in… figures… I’m a white male”) Rejection is hard to take and some people say things they don’t mean as a way to justify their not getting in, when really the only people who truly know why are the Admissions staff. And those people might be happier elsewhere anyway. Don’t let anyone else’s comments ever dampen your positivity about getting into any school or achieving something.

15 hours to go

Almost 11 hours more!

Heartfelt Message:
<a href=“My Two Cents | MIT Admissions”>http://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/my-two-cents</a></p>

For reference, we will be 3h, 14m, 16s away from decisions at 3:13:44p Eastern. Plan accordingly.

7 hours and 45 mins more!

@TheCrazyDude. Yes I know it’s 6:28, but I set my clock 6:18 by accident. And about 8 hours left to go until the final verdict!

7 hours!
