GOOD LUCK to ALL OF YOU!

On behalf of all the other RD applicants on CC.

Hope you guys get into MIT, remember, even if you don't, keep your chin up! you'll all end up somewhere you like. Even if you don't, keep in mind that university isn't life. Motivation is what ultimately leads to success, not just a degree.

thanks IVYPoison. If I don't get into MIT, it'll just make me more anxious for March 30th :)

Good luck everybody!

Yes, best of luck, everybody.

I will be in Maine for the weekend, but I'll be checking CC the absolute picosecond I get back (even though I'll be in lab!). Hugs to everybody, and I hope everyone gets a decision they can come to terms with.

Thank you, you're right: University isn't life. :)
Good luck to all of you, too. :)

LOL mollie. You're basically forced to come to terms with it, unless you wanna kill yourself over admission to MIT (please don't do that. too many brilliant minds to have em jumping off bridges).

everyone will find a school, and as they say, the vast vast majority of students say they couldn't imagine themselves anywhere else by the end of freshman year.

heh - well, good luck again, and see all of you admits next year!

thanks, everybody.

yeah, there are much more things you can do after your college life, and top schools do not always guarantee anything....even if i get a rejection letter from mit, i will still be very happy and spend my last three incredible months in high school!

i think if i get accepted to mit, itll give me confidence that berkeley will admit me on the 30th.

A few months ago I would have said that luck will have nothing to do with it. But now...

Why on Earth would an applicant wish good luck to other applicants?? Isn't college admissions a zero-sum game?

I wish you all bad luck.

Cause everything has been decided for a week now, so nothing you do can change anything?

I came to the conclusion in lab the other day that luck has everything to do with being a successful scientist, and anyone who thinks he's talented enough to not need luck is kidding himself.

And college admissions is non-zero-sum. Everybody is considered individually, so your admission or lack thereof won't affect anybody else's admission.

"Why on Earth would an applicant wish good luck to other applicants?? Isn't college admissions a zero-sum game?

I wish you all bad luck."

eh... you are right, but we're human's not machines... (although that will begin to change once I get in a lab!)

It also depends on your context. For me, I belong to a poor family in Pakistan where no one has ever thought of applying to the US... and i need LOADS of financial aid which only top schools are ready to give... and I've had to balance a job and my studies ... so this decision does mean a lot to me.. those who've applied to CalBerkley or other amazing schools that are easier to get into won't be very sad.. but i will :(

good luck everybody!

Best Wishes To All Of You!

Good luck everyone!- not

Best of luck, everyone! Decisions are now less than one day away.

Good luck everybody!

less than 16 hours left!
