No, the mail does not come on Sunday. Therein lies the agony. As an ED deferral, I felt the same pain. Sitting on this very computer all day Saturday before exams the next week, watching people getting acceptance (or not so lucky) letters and posting their decisions was... I don't think words would do too much justice in explaining the feeling.

You sit there, on the computer, watching. Waiting. The mail comes Saturday, 1:30 - nothing there.

Waiting... waiting... waiting...
That means Sunday is next. No mail on Sunday. Of course, I know that my envelope, big or small, is floating out in the postal service somewhere between NJ and GA, waiting to arrive here and let me know. Waiting...

It is the worst wait. But then, Monday came... still nothing.
Finally, Tuesday I got a skinny envelope. Why the hell did I wait like that for such a stupid skinny little envelope!!!! I was agonizing, searching for a letter that did not bring me the good news I was begging to get. Rather have just forgotten about waiting, studied, got the better grades that might have helped me with the mid-year report for the RD round...

Oh whatever. Why am I suddenly back on collegeconfidential again??? ARGGGGG - waiting!!!! I should learn better.

Oh I know a few days don't matter in the long run, but when you're waiting it's so painful.

I was so disappointed when I didn't get anything on Saturday. And then I made my mom go home early on Monday to wait for the mail and call me with the decision but the mail man didn't come early enough and she left. Then I cut work so I could go home right after school. And I was walking home so nervous and I saw that the mailbox didn't look full lol so I knew it wasn't going to be good. Then I open the mailbox and the letter before I even get into my house. :( Tres sad.

But the great thing about RD is that I'll be hearing from all my schools within that week so the other decisions will help pass the time. Most of my school notify online, and I don't care what anyone says about it being good to wait, I'm going start hitting that refresh button in March :D

ok, can i have them mail my decision letter internationally thru dhl or some other courier, but keep my main address (domestic) the same?

I remembered that ED decision weekend. That was a nerve-wracking weekend for me. I lived 40 minutes away from Princeton so I was expecting the mail on Saturday. I put my life on hold just waiting for the mailman that day . I didnt want to go anywhere nor do anything. All I did was sit at my computer, watching people post their decisions and jumping up to look through the window at the sound of a vehicle.

When the mailman finally came, I got no mail from Princeton. Oh, it was too much to take. I started thinking that I got rejected or deferred. I started looking at my other applications but all I did was stare at the essays. I remembered looking at the Why Penn? essay and thinking because I got rejected from Princeton. So I came back on the CC board and started chatting a bit with some of the other applicants.

Monday finally came and the mailman brought me a pleasant surprise in the form of a thick envelope. I jumped up and down the driveway screaming I got into Princeton, then I proceeded into the house where the screaming intensified. I called my mother and father at work to give them the good news and then I called my friends. Finally, I calmed down and came on the CC board to post my decision because I was on the ED roster.

Good luck to you RD(ers). Heres hoping that the envelope is thick.

thats such a nice story..that made me feel good...and i didnt even apply to Princeton...thank you :)

For the longest time I thought you were a yale enthusiast, inhaven...your sn is misleading.

I know, I remember seeing it on the decisions thread and I was like, "What?"

Way to create confusion, Inhaven. ;) Our CC-addled minds just can't take it!

lol seriously
did you make that sn when you were in a yale obsession? I know I certainly had one before discovering princeton.

Haha, and now my secret is out. Yes I used to be a Yale enthusiast and the name does have something to do with Yale.

I was never confused about who you guys were though, a lively group of Ed(ers).

thats cuz we are amazing and we rock at life =P (EDers that is)

Haha. Princeton CC=life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (and insanity, but shhh! that's a secret).

This is totally random (and inappropriate for this board), but since you're on right now, Phil, I wanted to share this with you:

I GOT A DARTMOUTH LIKELY TODAY!

Okay, maybe that didn't warrant all-caps, but all-caps was certainly my voice level when my mum brought it to me after track practice today. :) We'll have to plan a Princeton ED reunion for all of us out on the east coast.

A very reliable source (alumni interviewer) told me today that the decisions will be mailed on the 30th of March. There is no way of checking online; decisions will be mailed by snail mail only. People living near Princeton will probably receive their decisions on the 31st.

< barging in.....--> congrats grac ;)

CONGRATS GRACEY!!!! =P!!!!! im vurrrrry happy! but princeton is still number 1 of course =P

of course it's my number one, shrek! what, abandon you all for the school that inspired animal house?! now, that doesn't sound enticing at all... ;)

that's good to know about decisions, zero. of course, i'll be off on spring break at the time, so i won't even be home to get my small envelope!!

wow my spring break is next week =P hahaha u have late spring break!~

i also graduate may 25th =P but we end classes like may 10th cuz of APs =D

I'll be on spring break too, but I'm going to be home that week, anxiously refreshing multiple screens and waiting for the mailman.
