Tony: I don’t know, I did the actual application in September but never got around to writing the essays and sending in the transcripts. At least I made the deadline though. That kind of fits my personality. :D

I’d suggest to wait, checking when you get home and then later at night…mine didn’t change until at least past 7 pm, so it could be happening at any moment for you.

the aceptance rate of uiuc is 60% though and i think my SAT score is in the high end range of the average scores admitted…
am i missing something? I hope i get in…december seems so far away

^ The acceptance rate is so high because only the smart kids from Illinois apply. The kids that know they don’t have a chance don’t bother. And I think it’s actually closer to 70%.

I honestly don’t know squat about engineering though. I agree that it’s really hard to get into though.

Actually, Purdue just started sending out “likely admittance” letters to some of the better applicants signed by the dean of admissions, essentially saying that while we don’t send out official acceptances until 12/11 @ 5pm, count on being admitted. I think it’s a pretty smart thing to do actually. They know they are a direct competitor with Urbana in terms of at least the engineering program, and they want to generate early enthusiasm, and possibly visits to get to know Purdue better before the mid-December EA crunch time. It’s working for my son, at least. He wants to schedule a campus visit to check them out more closely. They also do live chatrooms for applicants, and separate ones for parents. Both great ideas, and immediately responsive to applicant and parent questions.

i called UIUC and apparently the myth about how UIUC likes to view all engineering sctudents at once when making decisions is false
goodluck to you all

hey good luck to everyone on the 11th!!!
i was accepted at the University of Michigan back in october, but i am still nervous because of how many deferals UIUC give out.
