Ok, so i got rejected from pretty much everywhere that i applied (the UCs at least) and today i got an email from UCR saying i was admitted.

My first question is:

Can i choose any major?

Second question:

Can anyone enlighten me about their 5-year dentistry program?
Is it difficult? What is required??? Thanks!!

I’m sure you can choose any major you want if they offered you admission (assuming that you didn’t originally apply to UCR).

Or you can always go in “Undeclared” in any of the three colleges (College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences; Bourns College of Engineering; College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences) and then declare a major later.

As far as I know, UCR doesn’t have a dentistry program… We have a UCR-UCLA Thomas Haider Program for Pre-Med students.

oh wait…is that the thing where you go for 5 years and you’re pretty much a “doctor” after it?

how exclusive is it?
is it difficult?

thats the thing where u study at ucr for 2 years then transfer to ucla for last 2 years. I heard that its very competitive because they can only send maximum of 24 students per year.

I got into UCR in same situation and they just chose the major that i put down for other UC’s. But im pretty sure u can change to any major u want.

Thanks you answered my question :D…or at least the major part
But thank you!!
