Hey… I was gonna take the following courses for Junior year ( fyi, I hope to major in Mechanical Engineering ) :
Ap Physics
Ap Lang and Comp
Ap Java
Calculus Honors
Spanish II
Us History
However, i’m having a scheduling conflict. Ap physics is conflicting with Ap Language and Composition. I have to make a choice between the two.
If I do not take AP physics ( which is in the first two periods…) then I will be able to take Ap Lang and have one period free.
Ap physics would be easier to study in continuity since I just got done with my general physics course but not sure if Ap Lang and Comp is important.
Any advice is much appreciated …
Thanks

If you're going into engineering, I'd take AP Physics. You can take AP Lit next year-most colleges give the same credit for AP Lang and AP Lit.

Isn't AP Lang and Comp an English class? Is it required for your school? Try to take both, but if you can't then definitely go for the AP Physics. You want to be a mech eng. major so you should take that including the SAT 2 Physics

If I take AP physics B though, then im just gonna be taking 2 Ap courses this year which I guess doesnt look challenging enough on my resume...

FYI, If i drop ap lang, then i'll be taking English III honors

Well, colleges know that there is only so much you can put in your schedule..

At my Ds very competitive college prep highschool, they CAN'T take more than 3 APs a year anyway...

Am in a collegeprep private school and now that you mention it, I think my school has a limit of max 3 Ap's... doh!

Is it worth mentioning somewhere in my college app that even though I had intended to take AP english lang in my junior year, I was unable to do so because of scheduling problems or should I just forget about it and try taking Ap Lit next year?

Thanks
