Does anyone know how strict the Wes admin is about credit transfers? I got my initial report and they gave me course credit for all my courses, but did not tell me which classes filled which requirements. I know Wesleyan has a lot of general education requirements, and I'm not sure how long it will take, as a transfer, to fill them. Has anyone been through the process of tranferring credits to meet graduation requirements? Do you guys have any tips?

First of all, those are recommendations, not requirements. They'll probably be pretty flexible about letting classes count for GenEd - if you've taken a science class, it will count towards the 3 NSMs requirement, etc. Wait til orientation, and then arrange an appointment with your dean, and everything will be worked out fairly easily, I'd guess. Don't stress about it too much :)

As for major requirements, which might be more complicated, speak to the department head, also during orientation.

If you're worried now, feel free to shoot them an e-mail to assuage your fears. :D

I have a friend who transferred, and Wesleyan counted some things for GenEd that really probably shouldn't have been... so I don't think they're very strict about it. I think GenEd credit is usually assigned based on the department and title of your class.

And madjoy makes the excellent point that GenEds are not mandatory, so you'll probably be fine anyway.
