I wanted to express my poor experience with Course Hero. I was searching for a subject last year and google search brought me to Course Hero. The only way to glance at the files were to sign up, which I did thinking I will use the usual “30 days trial period” which they didn’t have. When I tried to cancel (and it was good $120), there was no cancel button to be seen… I paused my membership and forgot all about it. No communication from the company since. Today got an email saying “renewal is due”. Surprise surprise.
I contacted customer support.
Since it was over a year they are unable to refund me any part of the payment. And when I asked to extend a membership to me for the next year instead - nope, that’s apparently against the rules as well since I looked at that one file.
Well, that has been one very expensive visit to a web page. For a company operating in a highly competitive tech and ed sectors, this is just unacceptable.
