Course Load 2016-17

I’m currently going into my junior year and I wanted to get feedback on the courses i’m signed up to take this fall

Currently, I’m taking Honors English 2, APUSH, AP Psychology, Honors Chem, Honors Precalc, Honors French 3, Honors Band, and Drivers ed/PE. I have an A or an A+ in all my classes and do about 4 hours of HW a night, while also participating in numerous clubs and track in the spring.

Next year, I plan to take AP Lang and Lit. AP World, AP Chem, AP Calc AB, Honors French 4, AP Comp. Gov’t, Honors Band, and PE (This is the maximum amount of credits I can take).

So, first, am i going to die under the workload? Second, is there anything I should takeout/ replace that would be beneficial (Note: I have no clue where I want to go to college, nor what I want to major in). And third, with my current grades, will i still be able to maintain an A average?

Five AP’s will likely result in a heavy workload, but it’s pretty doable. Out of those AP’s, I only took AP Language/Lit, Chem, and Calculus AB/BC (did not take APWH or government), but people I know who took APWH said they had quite a bit of homework/essays. However this largely depends on the school and/or your teacher.

The only AP’s I would recommend removing or replacing, if any, are ones you feel you aren’t really interested in studying or majoring in (for me, it was certain subjects like biology and history).

I’d cut one AP. It won’t make a difference for college admissions (if you can do well in 4, you can do the work in college, the 5th one doesn’t bring any new information) but it’ll make a huge difference for you, especially since you’ll have the equivalent of a writing intensive class in the Fall, writing applications.Pick the class you’re least interested in, or where the teacher isn’t good, or which you can easily take Honors instead.
OR
Take al 5 but ask your guidance counselor what the rules are for “dropping down” one level - would Honors English or Honors Government or Honors Calculus be available if the number of APs proves too much?
(And by “too much”, I mean if it cuts into your sleep. Don’t sacrifice sleep for one more AP please.)
