I have two questions that are somewhat related...first off, do grad schools pay attention to how many units you're taking? I'm at max right now, but thinking of dropping a few just bc of some personal stuff going on this semester. I'd still be full time, just taking 12 units instead of 18.

This would also mean that I would stay an extra semester, and take 15 units the remaining 2 semesters. That would bump me up to 5 1/2 years to graduate, but I had transferred from a completely different program and basically had to start from scratch. Would this time length look odd or hurt my chances at all?

I guess I'm just worried that admissions committees are going to think I was unable to handle undergrad work so I had to take less units, but do they even really care as long as you have a good gpa and good research experience (both of which I have)?
